Now playable on LAN!!! The improved Quack-a-doodle-Boom v0.2!


Hey hey deep void of the dark web! 

This is MY FIRST CHANGELOG AND I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! I have always wanted to do one of these :D and I am really excited.

Only the  latest version is available right now. The good part is you can still play in a single PC if you want.

Main highlights:

  • Quack-a-doodle-Boom has recieved a very big (at least for us) update and now supports LOCAL MULTIPLAYER so you can connect to a friend's computer and play remotely. This means you can ALSO use an IP tunnel to simulate LAN over the internet and play with ANYONE!  WOOOHOOO!!

Full changelog:

  • a whole new network system and menu to connect to other computers in a local area network
  • including a reworked node spawning system  that works over the net
  • new muzzle flashes
  • players display their names on top of the inventory
  • hp, ammo and clips moved to the top of the screen
  • grey duck is now more black than grey
  • added icons to health bar and ammo bar
  • added muzzle smoke when reloading
  • added weapon recoil when shooting
  • added screen vibration when big explosions occur
  • first time chests spawn they will now do it close to the players
  • rebalanced damage, ammo and recoil on some weapons
  • added keyboard key summary in the options menu
  • reworked the maps
  • updated lobby music
  • added icons to indicate weapon switching and inability to equip items if the player has an item equipped already

This was an amazing experience. We have learned to use the tools that Godot offers for multiplayer and this will help us make better multiplayer systems in the future.
